The most likely addition to Cruz Azul is Diber Cambindo, a Colombian forward who joined the club in 2023. Despite showing some promising flashes, he did not convince management during his first stint and was loaned out to Necaxa, where he has performed well.
Since his arrival in Aguascalientes, Cambindo has stood out by scoring 24 goals and providing 4 assists in 44 matches. In the current tournament, he has an impressive record of 9 goals in 9 games, which has caught the attention of Cruz Azul's management, who would be interested in bringing him back, although this would require sacrificing one of the current goal scorers of the team.
Although there was initially a desire to acquire the player permanently, only 20% of his transfer was secured, leaving 80% of the rights owned by Cruz Azul. Therefore, the club would only need to request Cambindo's return without having to activate the buy option that obliges Necaxa to keep the striker in their squad.
