El Hijo del Santo, an iconic figure in professional wrestling, carried out an extensive farewell tour across Mexico and other places last year. One of the events of this tour took place on Sunday, February 23, at the Arena San Marcos in Aguascalientes, where the wrestler Misterius suffered a serious accident.
In a video that began circulating on social media, Misterius is seen attempting a leap from the top rope with his opponent, but the corner gave way, causing him to fall abruptly to the ground. Immediately, both the wrestlers and the medical staff rushed to his aid, revealing severe injuries to his clavicle and spine.
After the incident, Misterius was taken to the locker rooms for medical attention. Although there was initial concern about possible damage to his leg mobility, it was determined that he would only need surgery for the fracture in his clavicle.
El Hijo del Santo and the promoter have been providing close support to the injured wrestler, but an online fundraiser was also organized by his friends to help his family. On the other hand, it was confirmed that the hospital costs are being covered by the medical insurance that Misterius has as a physical education teacher in Aguascalientes.
