In the municipality of Amanalco de Becerra, the Secretariat of Security of the State of Mexico (SSEM) carried out an operation in coordination with the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) and the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), resulting in the detention of Óscar 'N' alias 'Pecha' and Óscar Geovanni 'N' alias 'Gordo Mata', who were considered leaders of La Familia Michoacana in the region. A significant arsenal was seized from these individuals.

During the operation, a total of 12 people were detained, found in possession of firearms, drugs, and other elements used to carry out high-impact illicit activities. According to the SSEM, the detainees attempted to resist upon noticing the presence of the authorities, and a shootout ensued.

In their statements, the SSEM mentioned: 'SSEM personnel were carrying out preventive actions in the community of San Mateo Amanalco when they observed a person on a motorcycle carrying a long firearm. They followed him to a property guarded by armed men. Upon noticing the presence of SSEM personnel, they fired weapons intending to take their lives.'

The armed confrontation culminated in the capture of the leaders of the criminal group, as well as three men and two women who attempted to flee the scene. A significant arsenal, drugs, and other illicit objects held by the gang were confiscated.

Among the seized items were nine long firearms of various calibers, 32 magazines, more than 900 useful cartridges, tactical equipment, drugs, and communication devices. A significant amount of marijuana, a scale, a modem with two antennas, among other items, were also confiscated.

Additionally, in a previous operation, FGJEM managed to detain José Enrique 'N' known as 'El Nariz', 37 years old, who served as an operator of La Familia Michoacana in the Toluca Valley. This individual is accused of being involved in extortion, illegal logging, and several homicides in the region. José Enrique was under the orders of Josué 'N' alias 'El Colima' in the Toluca Valley. Both, like 'Pecha', were considered priority targets by the authorities of the State of Mexico.
