Mexican Security Secretariat Seizes 99,000 Liters of Fuel

The Secretariat of Security and Peace secured 99,000 liters of hydrocarbons in two operations coordinated with federal authorities; furthermore, two individuals were detained.

In a first deployment, elements of the State Public Security Forces (FSPE), in coordination with the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), were patrolling federal highway 45D, on the Apaseo el Grande–Querétaro stretch; there, they detected a tractor-trailer coupled to a semi-trailer tanker.

During the inspection, the driver could not prove the legal provenance of the fuel, equivalent to approximately 33,312 liters of gasoline. Additionally, he presented inconsistencies in the documentation. Therefore, the officers detained Edgar Miguel “N”, 29 years old, with a residence in Puebla. They also secured a Freightliner tractor-trailer, model 2023, and a semi-trailer tanker with a capacity of 33,500 liters.

Hydrocarbon Seizure in San Pedro Tenango El Nuevo

Subsequently, in a second action on the same federal highway, at the height of the San Pedro Tenango El Nuevo community, elements of the FSPE, in coordination with the National Guard and Physical Security of Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), located a tractor-trailer with double tankers improperly parked. Upon inspecting the unit, the driver did not present documentation accrediting the legal provenance of the hydrocarbons; furthermore, the agents detected irregularities in the import permit, absence of an origin invoice, and technical inconsistencies. The vehicle was transporting approximately 65,917 liters of hydrocarbons.

Consequently, the officers detained Luis Enrique “N”, 41 years old, with a residence in Nuevo León. They also secured a Scania tractor-trailer, model 2024; a Truxton semi-trailer tanker, model 2023; a tanker trailer and a dolly, model 2024. Finally, the authorities transported the seized hydrocarbons to the PEMEX Storage and Distribution Terminal (TAD) in Celaya, while the detainees were made available to the FGR to integrate the corresponding investigation files.
