The Mayor, Pedro Rodríguez Villegas, and Naval Lieutenant Fabián Ricardo Gómez Calcáneo have managed to consolidate a corporation at the service of the citizens in Atizapán de Zaragoza, with positive results reflected in surveys such as the ENSU. According to the latest INEGI survey, the perception of insecurity in the municipality has notably decreased in recent months.
From January 2022 to September 2024, Atizapán de Zaragoza has experienced a decrease in the perception of insecurity of 24.4 percentage points, dropping from 75 to the current 50.6. In the last year, the decrease was 5.8 percent, indicating a substantial improvement in security conditions compared to previous years.
Compared to neighboring municipalities such as Naucalpan, Cuautitlán Izcalli, Tlalnepantla, Ciudad Nezahualcóyotl, Toluca, Chimalhuacán, and Ecatepec, Atizapán de Zaragoza stands out for maintaining lower levels of perceived insecurity. These positive results are attributed to the ongoing work of Mayor Pedro Rodríguez and his focus on dignifying and protecting the security corporation.
The Directorate led by Fabián Ricardo Gómez Calcáneo has implemented measures to strengthen the members of the corporation, such as providing ballistic equipment, quality uniforms, and regular training. In addition, operations have been carried out, the Quadrant Surveillance Plan has been executed, and the working and salary conditions of the agents have been improved.
In collaboration with the citizenry, crime prevention manuals have been distributed so that the residents of Atizapán de Zaragoza can contribute to public safety. Thanks to these joint actions, the municipality has experienced a constant decrease in the perception of insecurity, positioning itself below the national average and achieving significant results in the fight against crime.
