A major water leak has been reported in the Cutzamala System, specifically on the Chamapa-Lechería highway, located in the State of Mexico. In several videos shared online, it can be seen how the leak reaches several meters in height.

The Potable Water, Sewage, and Sanitation Agency of Atizapán de Zaragoza (Sapasa) has confirmed that the major leak occurred in the macro circuit of the Cutzamala System, located on Coatzacoalcos Street in the Adolfo López Mateos neighborhood. The cause of the leak was the breakage of an air release valve of the Cutzamala system.

In response to the situation, staff from the Water Commission of the State of Mexico are carrying out necessary work on-site to effectively resolve the incident. Additionally, teams from Sapasa and municipal authorities have been deployed to the leak site to assist in mitigation efforts.

"The leak was due to a rupture of an air release valve from the Cutzamala system," stated Sapasa, emphasizing the importance of coordinated intervention to control and address such situations.
