In less than a year, the shopping plaza Parque Delta has been the scene of several attempted robberies. The most recent occurred on November 11 at the Bizarro jewelry store, located in the Benito Juárez borough. On this occasion, three men with suspicious behavior attempted to carry out the robbery, but thanks to the quick reaction of the workers, the robbery was thwarted and the criminals managed to escape.
However, this has not been the only incident at Parque Delta. In March, the Citizen Security Secretariat arrested three men after a car chase, who had taken merchandise from the mall without paying. Additionally, on August 20, another jewelry store at the same location was the victim of a robbery in which the criminals threatened employees with firearms and stole several jewels.
In the most recent incident, authorities managed to arrest two 17-year-old men and a 14-year-old woman, who were found in possession of various beauty products, hygiene items, and clothing worth approximately 43,335 pesos. It was revealed that one of the detainees has a history of previous robberies.
These risky situations at Parque Delta have raised concerns among merchants and visitors of the shopping center, who have called for increased security in the area to prevent future incidents.
