In response to the mayor's request for a personal meeting, the governor decided to leave the matter in the hands of the Secretary of Labor to avoid politicizing the issue. He expressed that his focus should be on serving the people and maintaining a good relationship with the municipal president, acknowledging his responsibility towards the residents of the locality.
Astrid Ortega, for her part, continued to await the governor's response to hold an in-person meeting, arguing that her statements may have been misinterpreted by the press. The mayor mentioned the importance of clarifying potential misrepresentations and waited for a formal response to her request.
The strike in Cadereyta, which has already been ongoing for two weeks, caught the attention even of the morning conference of the head of government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, who announced her intervention in the conflict through the Secretary of the Interior. Additionally, the Secretary of Tourism of Querétaro warned about the risk of losing the designation of "Magic Town" for Cadereyta if the lack of public services continues.
The governor reiterated his willingness to mediate in the situation and to resolve the conflict peacefully, emphasizing his focus on taking care of the problems and not seeking accountability. He stressed the importance of working together to move Cadereyta forward and refrained from making public accusations, indicating that his main responsibility is to ensure the welfare of the population.
