Documentary Screening Raises Awareness in Celaya

The film "Portraits of a Search" directed by various filmmakers from different states of Mexico, gives a voice to families who search and highlights their tenacity and pain, reflecting the human impact that this tragedy causes throughout the country. The documentary will be screened on Wednesday, October 23, at 7 PM in Irekua Park, Irapuato.

Alicia Calderón, the director, through an intimate narrative, accompanies women in their search for answers by visiting morgues, graves, and highways, highlighting the lack of support from the State. In a place marked by drug trafficking and violence, mothers are forced to hide and protect their daughters. The screening in Celaya, also affected by violence, not only shows reality but also denounces and prompts reflection.

The presence of organizations such as Amnesty International Guanajuato, Platform for Peace, and Searching for Pablito, reinforces the communal character of these initiatives. Through films like "Until We Meet Again" and "Night of Fire," the aim is to denounce impunity and violence in the country. Leslie Borsani, director of Cine La Mina, emphasizes the importance of bringing cinema to places where it usually does not reach, serving as a space for silenced stories to be heard.

The screening at Fundadores Park in Celaya on Friday, October 25, at 7 PM will show the film "Night of Fire," directed by Tatiana Huezo. This work is a tribute to the courage and unconditional love of mothers who, despite the pain, continue to fight. The screenings aim to raise awareness and empathy towards the families experiencing this tragedy, providing spaces for encounter, dialogue, and reflection in communities like San Francisco del Rincón, Irapuato, and Celaya.
