The Governor of the State of Mexico, Delfina Gómez Álvarez, installed the Peace Coordination Table in Chiautla, reporting a 30% decrease in high-impact crimes. This initiative aims to enhance security and well-being in the region.


Installation of Peace Coordination Table in Chiautla

In the municipality of Chiautla, Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez chaired the installation of the Coordination Table for the Construction of Peace, where it was revealed that the area experienced a 30% reduction in high-impact crimes and an 11% reduction in total crime incidence, according to a report from the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) from January to October 2024.

The State Security Secretariat (SSEM) also reported that from January to August 2024, Chiautla has shown a downward trend in the commission of crimes such as rape, thefts against transporters, residential burglaries, vehicle thefts, thefts against pedestrians, and extortion.

In session number 270, present were Horacio Duarte Olivares, Secretary General of the Government of the State of Mexico; Carlos Alberto Hernández Leyva, Undersecretary of State Police; José Luis Cervantes Martínez, Attorney General in the State; and Maricela Melo Rojas, Municipal President of Chiautla, as well as representatives from the Secretariats of National Defense, Navy, National Guard, and the National Intelligence Center.

Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez stated: "In this municipality, we have a decrease in total crime incidence, as well as in high-impact crimes, thanks to the joint work of the three levels of government."
