The 28th edition of the Festival of Light and Life is about to take place in the Magical Town of Chignahuapan, Puebla, from October 31 to November 2. This annual event will be held at the iconic lagoon of Chignahuapan and is expected to attract more than 89 thousand tourists during its three days of duration, generating an estimated economic impact of 81 million pesos.

The festival, based on Mexica cosmogony, highlights the lagoon as the starting point of the nine steps to Mictlán, the place to which the souls of the dead travel according to tradition. The spectacle begins with a torch march that guides attendees to the lagoon, where they can witness a monumental offering illuminated by more than a thousand lights. In addition, it includes an impressive production with lights, scenery, and pyrotechnics, solidifying itself as one of the most anticipated events of the Day of the Dead season.

Prices for the event vary according to the chosen location: Zone 1 (dock) $1,200 MXN, Zone 2 (front seats) $800 MXN, Zone 3 (stands) $900 MXN, and Zone 4 (side seats) $300 MXN. It is worth mentioning that, as in the previous year, the event on November 1 will be free for the general public.
