Five soldiers were killed and four others were injured in attacks carried out by the Jalisco New Generation Cartel in Michoacán and Jalisco. In a confrontation in Chilchota, Michoacán, members of the National Guard were ambushed, resulting in the death of three soldiers and injuries to two others. In another incident, two soldiers died and one was injured.
"The attacks highlight the danger faced by security forces in their fight against drug trafficking and organized violence in these regions," Mexican journalistic sources stated.
Meanwhile, in Jalisco, gunfire was recorded between security forces and the criminal group. Operations are ongoing to restore order and security in the affected areas.
