
Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier alerted the government of the United States about the possible impact of the mass deportations planned by the next president, Donald Trump, in Mexico. Armenta Mier expressed his concern over the lack of skilled labor in case Mexican migrants with technical training and experience in sectors such as agriculture, industry, and tourism are expelled, which significantly contribute to the economy.
During his visit to the municipality of Chinantla, in Izúcar de Matamoros, accompanied by the Mexican president, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the governor questioned whether the United States would be prepared to face the reconstruction of Los Angeles after the devastating fires without Mexican labor. Armenta Mier emphasized that the expulsion of Mexican migrants would affect key sectors where Mexican workers are fundamental.
Armenta Mier also praised Mexico's cooperation in sending support teams to fight the fires in Los Angeles, California. He highlighted the importance of the contribution of skilled Mexican labor for the reconstruction and operation of sectors such as agriculture, industry, and tourism in the United States.
The governor supported President Sheinbaum’s position in defense of Mexico's sovereignty and in the protection of the rights of Mexican migrants in the U.S. Armenta expressed his solidarity with Mexican migrants and reiterated the state government's commitment to work alongside the federal administration in defending their rights.
In this context, Armenta Mier urged for the unity of Mexico to protect migrants, especially those from Puebla, highlighting their contribution to the development of various regions in the United States. In the face of Trump’s threats and the uncertainty surrounding mass deportations, the Puebla governor reiterated Puebla's readiness to protect the rights of Puebla migrants and ensure their well-being in a critical moment.
