In Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, Hilario Beltrán was sentenced to 69 years in prison for the murder of Alma Lourdes the previous year. The events took place in a butcher shop in the Zona Norte neighborhood, where Hilario assaulted Alma Lourdes after a discussion motivated by insinuations toward his sister Ana Itzel, a victim of sexual harassment.

The tragic event occurred around 4:00 PM when Hilario returned armed to the butcher shop and shot Alma Lourdes, resulting in her death on the spot. The oral trial took place over several days in October 2024, and later an individual sentencing hearing was scheduled for the 21st of that month, where the sentence of 69 years and 9 months of prison was finally imposed on Hilario Beltrán.

Before his arrest, Hilario challenged the police officers who came to his home, being defensive and holding them responsible for his health if something happened to him. The State Attorney General's Office of Sonora demonstrated Hilario's responsibility in the crimes of femicide and sexual harassment, resulting in a total sentence of 69 years in prison.

Although the maximum penalty was requested for both crimes, the judge determined a sentence in accordance with the elements presented during the process. During the hearings, more than 30 testimonies were presented that supported the case theory presented by the FGJES.
