The company Cydsa reported that in the fourth quarter of last year, it achieved a 9.6% increase in its net sales, reaching four billion 151 million pesos (mdp). Furthermore, its operating cash flow experienced an annual increase of 1.95%, standing at one billion 151 mdp.
According to the company, this sales growth during the last quarter is attributed to the higher demand for edible salt in both domestic and export markets. It was also highlighted that sales from the new chlorine and caustic soda plant, located in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, with membrane technology, exceeded the decline in international prices of chlor-alkali chemical "commodities".
Regarding financial results, a net loss of 98 mdp was reported for the quarter, representing a negative variation of 582 mdp compared to the net profit of 484 mdp obtained in the same period of 2023.
The company explained: "The negative variation in net results is mainly due to the reduction of 242 mdp in operating profit and the increase of 432 mdp in income taxes, primarily due to the deferred tax effect arising from the depreciation of the exchange rate."
