The head of Government, Clara Brugada, announced the launch of a temporary school in the Barrio Bravo of Tepito, located in the Cuauhtémoc borough, to provide development and well-being opportunities for at-risk youth in this area of the capital. This project is part of the Territories of Peace and Equality strategy.
Together with the mayor of Cuauhtémoc, Alessandra Rojo de la Vega, the capital city leader explained that the school will be located at Jesús Carranza, number 125, in the Morelos neighborhood. The main objective is to rescue youth from crime, offering them a scholarship of 8,500 pesos monthly from the federal program Youths Building the Future.
"The task will be for at-risk youth to join, that for a year they can learn cultural and sports activities, but also finish their primary, secondary, or high school and ultimately decide what to do with their lives. Today we come to Tepito, and in 15 days I want to know how many youth we have under this situation," mentioned Clara Brugada.
During the House by House program in Tepito, the head of Government also reported on the construction of a Utopia at Eje 1 Norte corner with Héroes de Granaditas, a space of 3,163 square meters that will contribute to the well-being of the population. This project adds to the actions aimed at improving the quality of life in the area.
Additionally, work will be done on implementing the Territories of Peace and Equality strategy in Tepito and the Morelos neighborhood to promote employment through the City's job agency. Likewise, an investment of more than 3 million pesos will be made in street lighting, and the Bachetón program will be carried out to improve road infrastructure.
In another visit to the Cuauhtémoc borough, Clara Brugada called for community participation in creating a master plan for Tepito and a community and cultural council that involves artists, promoters, and creators for carrying out cultural activities, such as muralism, in this historic area of the city.
The mayor of Cuauhtémoc, Alessandra Rojo de la Vega, emphasized that the House by House Government program is a commitment to show that decisions are made on the street, listening and acting closely with the community, highlighting the importance of solving problems from the ground and not just from an office.
