In a joint operation between federal and state forces, 11 people, including one woman, were arrested for their alleged participation in the massacre at the ‘Bling Bling’ bar in Cuautitlán Izcalli, State of Mexico, where six people lost their lives and five others were injured. The transfer of the detainees to the Special Matters Prosecutor's Office in Toluca was graphically documented by the Cuartoscuro agency, following an operation carried out by the State of Mexico's Prosecutor's Office in collaboration with the State Security Secretary, the Army, and the Navy.
According to journalistic reports, the arrests were made in possession of narcotics, although authorities have not yet made an official statement regarding this nor confirmed the number of suspects allegedly involved. Relatives of the detainees protested in Cuautitlán Izcalli demanding their release, claiming that the operation was illegal and without evidence against them.
The protests by the families blocked Constitution Avenue in the center of Cuautitlán Izcalli, where they attempted to prevent the passage of vehicles transporting the suspects to Toluca. The Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico has not issued an official statement regarding the arrests or the procedures to be followed with the detainees.
