Removal of the Prosecutor in Morelos for Irregularities

The Morelos Congress session resumed after a four-hour recess, focusing on an important debate. One of the topics discussed was the dismissal of the state prosecutor, Uriel Carmona, requested due to his alleged involvement in the feminicide case of Ariadna Fernanda, who was found dead on the Mexico-Cuernavaca highway.

Uriel Carmona stated that there are no legal grounds for his dismissal and suggested that the request could be linked to a possible impeachment trial against Governor Cuauhtémoc Blanco. After the vote, J. Guadalupe Cortés Ramos was appointed as the head of the Internal Control Body of the General Prosecutor's Office of the State.

In an interview, Uriel Carmona mentioned that, so far, he has not received any official notification regarding the dismissal process. He expressed his concern, considering that this situation could be the result of political motives and possible vengeance.

The vote for the dismissal of Uriel Carmona had 16 votes in favor and 4 against. The decision was based on irregularities detected in the investigation of the feminicide of Ariadna Fernanda, according to arguments made by Governor Margarita González in her request to the Morelos Congress.

The dismissal of the prosecutor generated controversy, and it is expected that the process will continue with the appointment of a new head for the General Prosecutor's Office of the State.
