The governor of Morelos, Margarita González Saravia, asked Congress to remove prosecutor Uriel Carmona after his request to lift the immunity of Cuauhtémoc Blanco to investigate him for various crimes. Carmona had already been removed from his position in August 2023 due to allegations of obstruction of justice in a femicide case when Claudia Sheinbaum was head of Government in Mexico City.
The Attorney General's Office of Mexico City pointed out the Morelos prosecutor's office for providing assistance to one of the individuals responsible for the femicide of Ariadna Fernanda, presenting her death as a case of aspiration despite evidence of violence on the victim's body. Carmona's dismissal as attorney general of Morelos was carried out with 16 votes in favor and four against in Congress, following his request to strip Cuauhtémoc Blanco, accused of sexual abuse, of his immunity.
Ernestina Godoy, former capital prosecutor, urged for unity and support for the family of Ariadna Fernanda in their pursuit of justice. A video was circulated in which Rautel and Vanessa N are seen removing and abandoning the young woman's body on the Mexico-Cuernavaca highway, demonstrating that the prosecutor's office's version of the young woman dying from "aspiration" was not true. The prosecutor's office stated: "We neither violated the Constitution, nor did we violate the Rule of Law."
