The Morelos Prosecutor's Office reported on Thursday, March 13, that in the house of Dionicio Álvarez, a former collaborator of Cuauhtémoc Blanco in the Morelos government, an altar with human skulls was found. Dionicio Álvarez held the position of General Director of the Tequesquitengo Lake Trust, whose task is the promotion of tourism in the area.
As part of the investigations against him, the Morelos Prosecutor's Office carried out a search in one of the former official's properties in Cuernavaca, where a previously unreported hidden residence was discovered. During the operation, a luxury SUV was found, personal documents, as well as human and animal remains, including three human skulls on an altar and other dispersed bone fragments.
The Anti-Corruption Deputy Prosecutor of Morelos, Édgar Nuñez, indicated that objects such as horns, gasoline tanks, and blood stains were also found in Dionicio Álvarez's residence, prompting the intervention of Forensic Services and the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Forced Disappearance of Persons. Despite the operation, Dionicio Emanuel Álvarez was not located, although his bodyguard was detained for being unable to justify the possession of a weapon.
The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has opened a new investigation into Dionicio Álvarez due to the findings in his residence, maintaining an arrest warrant against him. So far, a reward is being offered for information leading to his capture. It was detailed that the Morelos government filed a complaint in January against the former official for alleged administrative irregularities, including payments for an artistic event without justification, amounting to approximately 20 million pesos. Additionally, irregularities exceeding 40 million pesos have been reported, detected by the Comptroller's Office during the handover process in the Morelos government. Irregular sales of land in the Tequesquitengo Lake area have also been reported, with apparent participation from state government officials.
