A government official of Cuauhtémoc Blanco in Morelos is being investigated for alleged misappropriation of resources in the organization of a music festival that never took place. Dionicio Emanuel Álvarez Anonales allegedly hired an artist for 19 million pesos through the Tequesquitengo Lake Trust for the event, which ultimately did not occur, as revealed by legal advisor Edgar Antonio Maldonado Ceballos.
Maldonado reported the diversion of 40 million pesos from the public treasury of Morelos in early 2025, which led the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office to offer a reward for information about Álvarez's whereabouts. The former director of the Tequesquitengo Lake Trust faces accusations of corruption and embezzlement of funds.
It has been noted that during his tenure, Álvarez also participated in the irregular sale of land in the Tequesquitengo Lake area, benefiting high-ranking officials of Cuauhtémoc Blanco's government. Those involved include Sandra Anaya, Mónica Boggio, Gerardo Becerra, and Edgar Riu.
In addition to the frauds, Dionicio Álvarez faces charges of embezzlement, illicit exercise of public function, and abusive exercise. In a recent search of his home, authorities discovered human skulls and traces of blood on an altar, as well as machetes, crosses, and candles in the house located in Cuernavaca.
The Prosecutor's Office has initiated a new investigation based on these findings and continues to seek Álvarez to carry out the arrest warrant against him. The search notice remains active and the reward for anyone who can assist in his location is still in place.
