In Culiacán, Sinaloa, three bodies were found showing signs of torture, gagged, and with gunshot wounds. The National Guard reported that the first corpse was discovered on the Culiacán-Mazatlán highway, at kilometer 116, near Jacola. The victim was a civilian with hands tied behind his back. Another body was located at a gas station near the traffic circle at the Costa Rica toll booth, on the same highway. A motorcycle, supposedly belonging to the victim, was found next to this body. The third body was discovered on the road to Sanalona, near the town of La Divisa. The criminals involved fled in a dual-wheel truck.
In another area of Culiacán, elements of the Army prevented a confrontation with an armed group supposedly linked to 'Los Chapitos'. In an agricultural field called 'El Conejo', the military captured 14 criminals and seized an arsenal that included high-powered rifles, thousands of cartridges, and an armored truck. The armed command was planning to attack in Costa Rica.
The detainees are Francisco Alonso, Cuauhtémoc, Felizardo, Luis Fernando, Kevin Josue, Jesús Artemio, Humberto, Eduardo, Rubén, Miguel Ernesto, Alan, Miguel Ángel, and Esteban. This group was handed over to the Attorney General's Office along with the weapons and the truck. Violence in Sinaloa is intensifying, also reflected in the discovery of three murdered individuals in different areas of Culiacán, indicating a possible settling of accounts. One of the bodies had its limbs tied and was found on the outskirts of the city after receiving distress calls about armed individuals in the area.
