In Sinaloa, violence has once again raised alarms due to the appearance of narcomantas and lifeless bodies in various parts of the state. This event has generated discontent towards the government of Rubén Rocha Moya, and there has been speculation about the supposed cancellation of the 2024 Livestock Expo.
The Livestock Fair in Culiacán, known for showcasing livestock breeds and offering cultural and musical events, traditionally takes place from November 14 to December 1. However, due to the recent acts of violence in the region, the organizers decided to cancel the event, arguing that the current conditions do not guarantee its economic viability.
Amid this controversy, Governor Rocha Moya has been questioned about the insecurity that has spread during his administration. Despite having mentioned that the cancellation was due to the participation of narcocorrido singers, in recent public statements, he maintained that the fair would not be suspended.
In response to the insecurity in Sinaloa, three requests were made to revoke Rocha Moya from his position as governor. However, the Electoral Institute of the State of Sinaloa (IEES) rejected these requests, considering them inadmissible.
