From the La Puerta subdivision, where a new synthetic grass soccer field was handed over, Mayor Juan de Dios Gámez highlighted that Culiacán is not only strengthening its sports infrastructure but is also integrating into a country vision that seeks to bring opportunities, inclusion, and development to girls, boys, and young people through sports. The project, built on a surface of 1,086 square meters with an investment of over 2.8 million pesos, is part of this national effort to recover public spaces and turn them into centers for coexistence, prevention, and social cohesion. The complex includes a roof, lighting system, and optimal conditions for its permanent use. During the event, the mayor emphasized that the “Social World Cup” represents a new way of understanding sports as public policy: not just as competition, but as an instrument for social transformation. “The truth is, seeing these spaces filled with girls, boys, adolescents, and families coexisting fills us with pride.
