Cancellation of Palenque in Culiacán

The Palenque in Culiacán has been canceled due to safety concerns and a low expected turnout after violent events and threats from criminal groups. Artists lined up for the event were Christian Nodal, Natanael Cano, and others, but authorities claim the decision was not solely based on threats.

Cancellation of Palenque in Culiacán

El Palenque de Culiacán, one of the most anticipated events in Sinaloa, was canceled after the cancellation of La Expo Ganadera in the same city due to the appearance of a narcomanta. The Regional Livestock Union of Sinaloa decided to suspend this livestock festival in light of a series of violent events.

According to what the authorities communicated, the cancellation was due to possible repercussions on security and the low turnout of spectators expected at the nearly 20 scheduled performances. Although it had been rumored that criminal groups had threatened with the suspension, the Secretary General of Government, Feliciano Castro Meléndrez, denied that this action responded to such threats.

Among the artists who were supposed to perform at the Palenque de Culiacán were names like Christian Nodal, Natanael Cano, Julián Álvarez, Yuridia, Los Tucanes de Tijuana, among others. Ticket prices ranged from $800 pesos in the most economical area to $4500 pesos in the VIP area, places that could be purchased through the Hotel San Marcos and an online ticketing system.

So far, none of the announced singers have commented on the cancellation of the performances or on the refund process for those who had already purchased their tickets.
