Former Election Prosecutor Reported Kidnapped in Cunduacán

José María García Tiqué, the former Special Prosecutor for Electoral Crimes in Tabasco, was allegedly kidnapped in Cunduacán by armed individuals while driving. Witnesses reported seeing the suspects in a white Ford truck. Authorities have yet to issue an official statement and a search operation is underway.


Former Election Prosecutor Reported Kidnapped in Cunduacán

The former Special Prosecutor for Electoral Crimes in Tabasco, José María García Tiqué, was allegedly kidnapped on Wednesday morning in the municipality of Cunduacán, with no information available about his whereabouts so far. The also former mayoral candidate for Cunduacán, from Morena, was intercepted by armed individuals around 9:00 am while driving his vehicle on the road in front of the Obrera neighborhood, according to initial reports.

Witnesses told the media that the alleged perpetrators of 'Chema' Tiqué's disappearance were traveling in a white Ford pickup truck. The former official's vehicle was found on the road, which alerted local residents and prompted the mobilization of the authorities.

So far, no authority, including the Attorney General's Office of the State of Tabasco, has issued an official statement on the case, although local sources confirmed the deployment of a search and surveillance operation in the region, in coordination with federal forces.
