During a routine inspection of a dry van truck, agents identified 'various materials with characteristics of chemical precursors.' They immediately proceeded to secure the cargo to prevent it from being used in the manufacture of synthetic drugs. Among the seized materials are: 300 sacks with 7,500 kg of lead acetone, 36 sacks with 900 kg of tartaric acid, 20 drums with 4,000 liters of ethanol, 100 kg of a white solid substance, 4,500 kg of caustic soda, and 3,000 liters of other chemicals and liquids. Following the intervention, the driver was detained, his rights were read to him, and he was turned over to the corresponding agent of the Public Ministry, who will be responsible for determining his legal situation. Omar García Harfuch reported that in an action against the trafficking of drug precursors, federal forces seized over 13 tons of solids and 13,400 liters of chemicals in a truck in Durango. The driver was detained and handed over to the authorities. The operation was led by elements of the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC) of the Attorney General's Office (FGR), with the support of the Secretariat of National Defense, the Navy, the National Guard, and the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC). The incident occurred at a checkpoint established on the Durango–Hidalgo del Parral Pan-American Highway, at kilometer 238+700.
