
Fourteen children were poisoned with amphetamines during the celebration of Children's Day in Eldorado, reported authorities from the Sinaloa Health Secretariat. The head of the agency, Cuitláhuac González, revealed that the minors had consumed contaminated food and drinks at a gathering, which caused symptoms of drug intoxication.
González confirmed that laboratory tests conducted on the children showed the presence of amphetamines, a stimulant drug. Fortunately, the minors were treated in time and are stable, so they have already been discharged to reunite with their families. At the same time, a report has been filed with the authorities to identify those responsible for this incident.
In total, twelve children were hospitalized and two received treatment at the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS). In total, fourteen minors required medical assistance after the amphetamine intoxication.
