The governor reported that the largest fire of the day was triggered by adverse weather conditions. The lack of humidity and strong winds caused complications in extinguishing the flames. Although the fire affected some industries in the area, no injuries were reported, thanks to the quick action of local authorities, Civil Protection, and firefighters.
So far, between 70% and 80% of the fire has been controlled, keeping Heberto Castillo Avenue closed. Two companies were affected, one of them completely consumed, which could cause electricity problems in the area. Despite the difficulties, it is expected that the avenue will be reopened in the coming hours.
The governor assured that efforts will continue throughout the night to completely extinguish the fire and ensure the safety of the population. The mayor emphasized that there have been no injuries reported and that there are no risks to the population, dispelling rumors of possible explosions that sought only to create panic in society.
The fire, generated in a grassland due to strong winds, has mobilized a large number of firefighters and Civil Protection personnel. Despite the climatic difficulties that prevent the use of helicopters, an active deployment remains to contain the flames and prevent their spread to residential areas.
