Jalisco Implements Real-Time Bus Tracking System

The Government of Jalisco has announced a new technological alliance to strengthen the public transport system, incorporating real-time monitoring via GPS in its units.

This new tool will allow users to track the location of buses from their mobile phones, helping them to better organize their trips and wait less at stops. This is a significant step in the state's strategy towards electromobility, which already includes the first electric route network and the country's most comprehensive electronic payment system.

As highlighted by the General Strategic Coordinator, Karina Hermosillo, this action is part of an integral strategy that includes the incorporation of new units and mobility projects. "The mobility strategy in the state continues to consolidate. We want to announce an additional element; we will now have much more clarity when we want to take our bus with an important step that the state is taking. Something that seemed like a dream and difficult to achieve this year, we will implement in two steps," she said.

In turn, the Secretary of Transport, Diego Monraz, explained that this tool will be implemented in two stages. The system will monitor a total of 4,500 public transport units. The goal is to improve the user experience and optimize the service operation in the state.
