Fire at Forum Tlaquepaque: Successful Evacuation

In the shopping plaza "Forum Tlaquepaque" located in Jalisco, a fire was reported that mobilized emergency units and security personnel, who proceeded to evacuate more than 5,000 people. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported and it was determined that there was no structural damage to the building, so the shopping center is expected to reopen in the next few hours.

Various recommendations were shared by Civil Protection of Jalisco in case of a fire: alert others and evacuate the area in an orderly manner, quickly call the firefighters, close doors to stop the spread of the fire, do not use water near electrical installations, and remain calm by following the instructions of emergency services.

According to preliminary information, the fire originated in the garbage and fiberglass storage areas in the basement of the commercial complex. After the arrival of firefighters and civil protection teams, the evacuation was carried out effectively, without incidents. It was determined that a short circuit on the ground floor may have been the cause of the fire that generated the presence of smoke in the area.

Due to the rapid intervention of the authorities and the cooperation of those affected, the situation was successfully controlled. It is essential to follow safety measures in the event of a fire, such as crawling out in the presence of smoke, cutting off the electric current and gas supply, and using a fire extinguisher only if the fire is of small magnitude and does not pose an imminent danger.
