In 2015, a man was sentenced to 24 years, nine months, and 18 days in prison for homicide, but in 2020 he regained his freedom. Recently, in Guadalajara, he was reapprehended. This is Eduardo Salvador, who has been accused of a new heinous crime. He killed Astrid Cruz and her 15-year-old son, Ángel Fernando, using a hammer. He also attacked Isabela, Astrid's daughter, tying her up and hitting her repeatedly.

According to investigations, Salvador tried to dispose of the bodies, took Astrid's cell phone, and responded to messages pretending to be her. It has been revealed that the assault occurred in the context of the couple's separation while Astrid was moving to the house where she was ultimately murdered. People close to the victim have stated that Salvador forced her to sell a house, accumulating debts, and that she suffered physical and emotional abuse repeatedly.

Eduardo Salvador, who is currently outside of Jalisco, is being sought in connection with these crimes. The feminist organization Feminists of Guadalajara has called for a demonstration in memory of Astrid Cruz and her son on March 8 at Parque Revolución. Attendees are asked to wear a white shirt as a sign of solidarity.

Salvador, founder of Grapesa International, a security company, has a criminal record for a similar case: the murder of his partner 21 years ago in Culiacán, Sinaloa. On that occasion, he was sentenced to 24 years in prison, but he managed to escape from prison and was later recaptured. It is also reported that Isabella, the daughter of his ex-partner, was attacked by him back then and is now fighting for her life after the recent attack in which Astrid and her son died.
