Major Fire in Guadalajara Industrial Zone Causes Drug Discovery

In the Industrial Zone of Guadalajara, elements of the Jalisco State Attorney General's Office confirmed the discovery of an alleged drug shipment among the rubble of a company after a fire. The incident left no casualties or injuries, so evacuations were preventive, and a clean report was made.

The preliminary review conducted by the Deputy Prosecutor's Office for Specialized Investigation of Social Coordination of the State Attorney General's Office revealed that among the rubble of a courier company, approximately 10 kilograms of white powder, presumably cocaine, and 25 kilograms of green vegetable matter, apparently marijuana, were found. Authorities have already begun investigations to determine the causes of the fire and the origin of the narcotics.

After the fire, in which there were no affected individuals, the Deputy Prosecutor's Office reported that it is collaborating with federal authorities and opened an investigation file. They requested expert analyses to determine the causes of the incident, assess the damage, and identify the psychoactive substances found at the scene.

The fire, which spread from a cleaning products company to a courier company, mobilized more than 200 elements from various emergency and security agencies. Firefighters, Siapa personnel, Sedena, the National Guard, and Civil Protection of Jalisco worked to control the blaze.

The fire affected two large warehouses in a mini industrial park in the Industrial neighborhood, leaving one warehouse completely consumed and another with 50% damage. Despite the magnitude of the fire, no injuries were reported. The emergency was detected after receiving reports of smoke coming from several manholes, triggering an immediate response from emergency services.
