A 32-year-old American citizen was murdered in an attempted robbery of his high-end watch in the Americana neighborhood of Guadalajara. According to witnesses, three alleged criminals, two men and a woman, arrived at the scene threatening the victim to take off the watch. When the victim refused, they shot him in the right cheek and then fled in a taxi to an unknown location.

The crime occurred at noon on a Sunday at the intersection of José María Morelos and Colomos streets, two blocks from the cultural corridor on Chapultepec Avenue, a tourist area. Paramedics from the Municipal Medical Services confirmed the death of the American citizen at the scene.

After the incident, a Public Ministry agent opened an investigation for homicide, and forensics experts from the Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences arrived to collect evidence and lift the body, which was transferred to the metropolitan morgue. The victim’s family and friends are in shock and are cooperating with the ongoing investigations, although they have not been able to provide more information to the authorities at this time.
