Revelations about CJNG Recruitment

Journalist Luis Chaparro, director of the media outlet Pie de Nota, conducted an interview with a young man who was recruited by the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). In the midst of his statements, he revealed the deceptions and modus operandi used by collaborators of organized crime, continuing investigations into recruitment practices following the discovery of Ranch Izaguirre in Teuchitlán.

At the beginning of the interview, the young man—who preferred to remain anonymous—detailed how he was lured with false job offers and spent a month alongside more than fifty people. "I am from Guadalajara and I was recruited with lies to patrol the city, as a bodyguard... We had to go on a mission, and during that mission, we had to be there for about 30 days," he specified.

At the place where he was confined, the young man was trained in the use of firearms and had to look for food in the mountains during his confinement. The recruitment occurred through Facebook, where he made contact with the CJNG. "I was recruited by the Jalisco New Generation Cartel... It was through Facebook because I saw the statuses of other people and I asked them how the business worked," he mentioned.

In his final reflections, the young man shared a recommendation for the youth, urging them to avoid contact with organized crime through social media. "Just as they tell you, the truth will not be... Being with El Primo has no way back. If you don't cooperate, they will kill you, your family, and all your loved ones," he concluded.
