Second National Dialogue for Peace Held in Mexico

In Guadalajara, Jalisco, from January 30 to February 1, the Second National Dialogue for Peace was held, bringing together over 1,200 leaders from various sectors. Participants agreed that any peace process must be built with the involvement of violence victims and offer paths for the reintegration of perpetrators. The dialogue also featured mayors and municipal representatives recognized for their peace-building work. Various religious communities signed a common commitment and presented a joint work plan. Monsignor Ramón Castro emphasized that building peace requires listening, discerning, and acting; it is a calling for every person to seek a social order of harmonized relationships, centered on victims and convinced that peace is only achieved with truth, justice, and reparation. The event also included analysis tables on the country's main challenges. The dialogue concluded with interreligious commitments, recognitions for companies contributing to a culture of peace, and the delivery of proven methodologies to federal, state, and municipal governments.
