On Monday, October 28, the capture of Armando “N”, alias “Delta 1” or “Máximo”, took place. He was considered the third in command of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel in the metropolitan area of Guadalajara and was responsible for the expansion of this group in Michoacán.

According to the Army, Armando was in charge of controlling criminal activities in the Puente Grande prison complex and coordinated the hitman cell “Los Deltas” in the main municipalities of Jalisco. This group is known for its extreme violence, committing murders, kidnappings, and extortions.

The detention took place as part of the Federal Government’s 100-day Plan, through intelligence work and investigations. The detainee and all seized items were handed over to the Attorney General's Office for the corresponding procedures.

On the other hand, the mayor of Uruapan, Carlos Manzo Rodríguez, requested intervention from the federal government following the murder of journalist Mauricio Cruz Solís. In this context, the Mexican Army announced the capture of the alleged CJNG leader in Guadalajara, along with the confiscation of weapons and possible drugs.

The mayor of Uruapan urged for the presence of federal and state authorities to ensure security conditions for both officials and all citizens in the region.
