The governor of Guanajuato, Libia García, participated in a meeting of the federal government's security cabinet, marking a significant change after the previous administration refused to cooperate. After the meeting, García shared a video highlighting the importance of collaboration and joint work to improve security in the state.
In this meeting, a comprehensive strategy was discussed to address insecurity in Guanajuato, without resorting to the 'war on drugs' strategy. It will focus on reducing impunity and preventing crime from its origin, with particular attention to critical areas like Celaya and León, which have high rates of insecurity.
Libia García announced that she will soon present her regionalized security strategy in the state, which will have the support of the federal government under the presidency of Claudia Sheinbaum. Close collaboration with federal forces is expected to implement the joint plan agreed upon during the meeting.
For her part, Claudia Sheinbaum reaffirmed the commitment to reduce crime rates in Guanajuato through a strategy that combines intelligence and social support. Special emphasis was placed on addressing the root causes of criminality in the region to achieve significant and sustainable change.
The Mexican president emphasized the importance of working together and patiently to achieve gradual results. Both leaders agreed on the need to restore tranquility and peace in Guanajuato, trusting that the proposed collaboration and comprehensive approach will make a difference in the fight against insecurity in the region.
