
In the early morning of Wednesday, at kilometer 169 of the road to Montemorelos in Hualahuises, a car jumped the central median and collided head-on with a truck, tragically resulting in five fatalities, four women and one man. It was not determined whether the accident was caused by speeding or other circumstances.
Upon arrival at the scene, Civil Protection of Nuevo León confirmed the fatal accident, where a Chevrolet Aveo vehicle directly impacted a cargo truck. Both Hualahuises PC elements and the Red Cross certified that the five people inside the Aveo had lost their lives. Two injured individuals were transported to the IMSS Hospital in Linares.
Authorities, with the help of experts, recovered the bodies of the victims trapped inside the vehicle, while the Forensic Medical Service was requested for the situation. One lane of traffic from south to north remained closed until late in the morning.
The deceased victims were identified as four women and one man, while the injured are Jorge Alberto Flores del Toro, 46 years old, and Pedro Alonso Castillo Marín, 44 years old. The accident involved a Chevrolet Aveo and a HINO 300 truck.
In another unfortunate incident in Rayones, a car fell into a ravine approximately one kilometer deep, where an elderly man, around 60 years old, was found dead. Simultaneously, on the road to Tamaulipas, a vehicle fire was reported that affected traffic towards Nuevo Laredo.
