On Saturday, November 16, 2024, a video went viral on social media showing several individuals intercepting a truck driver to rob him on the Mexico-Puebla highway. The road in the community of Río Frío, in the municipality of Ixtapaluca, has become dangerous for transporters as they face armed criminals.
In the images shared online, the subjects are seen getting out of a Dodge sedan to stop a truck that was moving at low speed. Two armed individuals board the truck, rob the driver of his vehicle in a few seconds, and transfer him to their car.
The truck's security cameras managed to capture the face of one of the robbers, who was driving the truck. The criminal was wearing sweats with three white stripes, appeared to be over 50 years old, and had gray hair.
Regarding procedures for reporting highway theft in Mexico, it is emphasized to call 911 in case of emergency or robbery. The National Guard, responsible for road safety and order on highways, can be contacted through the number 088 to report incidents or request help.
