Drug Laboratory Dismantled in Ixtlahuaca

In the municipality of Ixtlahuaca, in the north of the State of Mexico, federal and state forces dismantled a "narcolaboratory" in the community of San Juan de las Manzanas. Seventy kilos of synthetic drugs, 105 barrels with 50 liters of chemicals each, 18 thick brown plastic tubs, seven tin pots, among other materials used for drug production, were found at the site.

According to authorities, investigations were initiated following citizen reports that mentioned the presence of armed individuals at a residence in the community, raising suspicions about the existence of a clandestine laboratory. After a joint operation involving federal agents, marines, soldiers, the National Guard, and state police, three structures where synthetic drugs were being produced were identified.

Despite the discovery, no responsible individuals were found on site. In the images provided by the federal government, the open-air "narcolaboratory" is seen with large metal pots and steel containers holding raw materials for the manufacture of drugs. Chemical barrels and black plastic bags scattered in the area were also found.

Although it was not specified which criminal group this laboratory belonged to, it was noted that this is the first of its kind to be discovered and dismantled in the northern region of the State of Mexico. The joint operation by federal and state forces represented a significant blow against drug trafficking in the area.
