The Mexican national ice hockey team was crowned champion of the IIHF World Championship Division III Group B by defeating North Korea 9-2 in the final held at Lakeside Icepark in Juriquilla. The Mexican team dominated the tournament with a perfect record of five victories, showcasing their offensive power and defensive solidity.

In the final match, Majul opened the scoring in the first minutes, followed by goals from Enrique Samperio and again Majul, ending the first period with a 3-0 lead. Mexico continued its offense with goals from Majul and Ángel Tapia, who scored twice, and Gonzalo Hagerman sealed the score for a final 9-2.

Forward Héctor Majul was the standout of the tournament, leading the scoring table with 15 goals and 5 assists in five matches, and was named the Best Forward of the championship. Goalkeeper Alfonso de Alba was also recognized as the Best Goaltender of the tournament.

Hong Kong took the bronze medal by defeating Mongolia 7-3. With this result, Mexico finished the tournament undefeated and achieved its return to Division II after a relegation in 2024.

In the second period, Brandon Méndez extended the lead, although North Korea made a comeback with a goal from Kum Song Kim.
