A shooting occurred at a high school in Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán. A 15-year-old student, Omar 'N', shot two teachers, allegedly for being denied entry to the school premises. The incident caused panic among students, who immediately took cover and called for help. Omar 'N' was detained by municipal police and the Civil Guard. President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo condemned this 'very painful' crime. She noted that it appears the young man had planned the attack in advance and was specifically targeting his victims. The President stated that the case will be handled comprehensively, and her administration aims to ensure this is an isolated incident. Sheinbaum also recalled that her administration is implementing a mental health strategy in public schools, which includes training for both students and teachers. Authorities reported that the youth was found in possession of a long-barreled 5.56 caliber firearm with a magazine and over 40 cartridges.
