In response to the violence recorded in Baja California Sur, the United States embassy issued a security alert for its citizens in Cabo San Lucas, San José del Cabo, and La Paz. The situation has led to increased security measures, restrictions on public transportation, and other actions to address the issue. Local reports and social media have mentioned incidents such as shootings in Cabo San Lucas, bus fires in La Paz and Los Cabos, murders of law enforcement agents, and threats directed at officials by cartels.
In light of this scenario, the U.S. embassy in Mexico issued recommendations for its citizens, urging them to avoid crowds and remain alert for any signs of unrest. It is also advised to leave any public place where the situation becomes volatile or seek safe shelter.
