The Governor of Jalisco, Pablo Lemus, confirmed that the rehabilitation works of the airports of Lagos de Moreno and Costalegre continue as part of the restoration and infrastructure development efforts in different parts of the state. During a dialogue meeting with various business sectors of Jalisco, the governor highlighted the commitment to strengthen both micro and macro enterprises through innovative and technological strategies that will also improve roads and other infrastructure works.
Specifically, Lemus pointed out the intention to reactivate the Lagos de Moreno airport to turn it into a strategic logistics center for the distribution of goods in the Los Altos region of Jalisco and El Bajío. He expressed: "There are poultry industries, many agribusinesses, and technology companies interested in having this airport activated to transport their goods to the United States, Canada, and even Europe."
The goal of rehabilitating the Lagos de Moreno airport is to attract new investments, generate local employment, and improve the competitiveness of the state. With a runway of 2,200 meters in length and the capacity to receive large aircraft such as the Boeing 737, the aerodrome, currently known as Francisco Primo de Verdad y Ramos Airport, seeks to take advantage of the industrial and business profile of the Los Altos region of Jalisco, where poultry, agribusiness, and technology companies stand out, to connect them with new markets in the United States, Canada, and Europe.
