
The "I want León cleaner" campaign, promoted by the Comprehensive Public Cleaning System (SIAP), has managed to gather more than 36,874 residents of León in just over a week since its start on October 21, with a planned conclusion for November 1. In this joint effort, various government entities, companies, neighborhood committees, civil organizations, and notably, the educational sector, have participated actively with more than 233 schools and thousands of students.
The director of SIAP, Fernando Trujillo Jiménez, explained that the main objective of the campaign is to promote a culture of cleanliness and environmental care. "We want León residents to feel proud of their city and take care of it as if it were their home," he emphasized.
In this initiative, carried out in collaboration with the Municipal Institute of Housing of León (IMUVI) and students from SABES, the cleaning of the De Alfaro stream was conducted, successfully removing a total of 3 tons of garbage.
Among the actions developed during the campaign, sweeping and cleaning in homes, schools, businesses, and public spaces, waste separation to promote recycling and proper waste disposal, stream and median cleaning to improve the natural environment, as well as workshops and talks on the importance of keeping the city clean, stand out.
In summary, the "I want León cleaner" campaign has gathered more than 36,000 participants, involved over 233 schools, and has taken place from October 21 to November 1, encompassing sweeping, cleaning, waste separation, and training actions.
