
The city of León has organized a series of events as part of the signing of the pact "For a Safe Sport with Equal Opportunities," which will extend until March 8, International Women's Day. These activities include workshops, lectures, sports competitions, and dialogue spaces, all aimed at eradicating violence and promoting inclusion in the sports field.
Prominent female figures will lead forums and panels, such as the forum "Women and Sports" where recognized athletes like Yolanda Sosa, Taine Ramírez, Flora Moreno in athletics, María Fernanda Cornejo in bowling, Adriana Rodríguez Vizcarra in charreería, María de los Ángeles Cato as a marathon runner, and Regina Yamín will participate. These events aim to highlight and value the effort and dedication of women in local sports.
Isaac Piña Valdivia, director of COMUDE, emphasized that various activities will be carried out to commemorate International Women's Day. Among them, a cycling ride with more than 600 participants, a swimming relay competition, and a motivational panel with León's Olympic athletes such as Goretti Zumaya, Arantxa Chávez, Fabiola Ramírez, and Cinthia de la Rue, who will share their experiences and challenges in the sports world.
Additionally, as part of these events, the trajectory of various local athletes who have left a significant mark in León will be recognized.
