On the afternoon of Monday, January 27, an armed group carried out a shooting attack against a campsite of pilgrims in León, Guanajuato. The violent event occurred in the community of Duarte, where people were resting before continuing their pilgrimage to San Juan de los Lagos.
The attack was carried out directly, resulting in one fatality, as confirmed by the Civil Protection of Guanajuato. So far, it is unknown if there are more people injured as a result of this violent act.
