The historic tennis player Serena Williams visited the León Fair 2025, where she gave a lecture at the Inspira Forum, sharing with attendees her professional and personal experiences that have established her as one of the leading figures in women's sports.
During her talk, Serena emphasized the importance of personal investment and constant effort: "The most important investment you can make is in yourself; always give your best effort, and over time, you can see that all of that was actually an investment that brought results," commented the tennis player.
The attendees, equipped with posters, balls, and other sports-related items, listened attentively for about an hour to the athlete's experiences, whose story has been made into a movie starring Will Smith.
Serena also addressed the evolution of the perception of women's sports, highlighting how, thanks to the spaces gained by her and other athletes, it has been proven that women compete at a high level. Furthermore, she shared her commitment to leadership and inclusion, mentioning her support for women and people of color, which led her to invest in an inclusive company focused on providing opportunities without discrimination and listening to diverse perspectives.
The talk concluded with a group photo in which Williams posed alongside prominent Guanajuato athletes, such as Cecilia Tamayo, Liliana Ibáñez, Jesús Camacho, and Andrea Dorantes, who participated in the event prior to her presentation.
This meeting offered the people of León a unique opportunity to get up close with an iconic figure in world sports and to be inspired by her message of perseverance, inclusion, and leadership.
