Mexican company Grupo Bachoco, a leader in the multiprotein industry, has announced a new edition of the Medio Maratón Bachoco under the slogan "Unidos por la Alimentación". In 2024, participation exceeded previous figures with 5,989 runners, raising 2,096,150 pesos, surpassing the 893,500 pesos collected in 2023. The company hopes to match and surpass these figures in November and December 2025 to continue strengthening its social program. The event will take place in two key cities: Mérida on November 23 and Puebla on December 7. The Bachoco Half Marathon will feature various categories and distances, including 3k, 5k, 10k, and the 21k half marathon. The organization also includes inclusive categories such as Wheelchair and "Perruners" (running with dogs), as well as a recreational walk for the children's category (up to 12 years old). Registration for the event is now open. Kit distribution will take place one day before each race, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at locations designated by the organizing committee. The funds raised will be allocated to the social cause "Unidos por la Alimentación," a strategic alliance with government institutions or civil associations in each region, including DIF institutions. The initiative specifically aims to raise funds for the rehabilitation and support of community and school kitchens run by DIF, which provide daily meals to approximately 1,800 people in need. The company thanked the governments of Guanajuato, Puebla, Veracruz, and Mérida, Yucatán, as well as the Municipalities, Municipal Transit, the Sports Institutes, the DIF System, and the sponsors who contribute to the cause.
